Public Safety Updates

There has been a rash of office thefts in the city as of late. Please tell your employees about this intrusion. They come in and make friends and then take what they can and leave before anyone knows what’s going on. Watch for strangers in your place of business. Be alert.

Same for car prowls. More and more are happening. Solution is simple. Don’t leave anything in your car in plain sight. And, parking lots are being hit too. Again, be alert. Report suspicious activity to 911.

Tagging has reared its ugly head once again in SODO. Take a look at your property and paint out any that you find. It’s simply part of doing business these days but we have to take care of it ourselves.

Much of the above can be reduced in volume is you have NO TRESPASS signs prominently posted. Go to their SPD website to request one. It can all be done online. Start with seattle.gov or seattlepolice.gov.

Finally, for those near music venues, there is a new nightlife initiative being discussed in City Hall. I will advise you of the latest in that regard soon. We are affected but these programs are written with the idea of reducing late night problems. More to come in this matter since it does affect our area.
